The Prophetic Voice

God’s Word says,

Do not quench the Spirit (put out His fire), do not despise prophetic utterances.
~1 Thessalonians 5:19-20
This command I entrust to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may fight the good fight.
~1 Timothy 1:19

God’s Word tells us that one of the ways He speaks to us is through the prophetic gifts that He has given to His body. We are told to not despise these gifts, or we can put out His fire. We are also told to use them (when we witness to their accuracy) to fight our fight and fulfill God’s calling on our lives.
